If you have few faucets and showers at home that you do not use frequently during winter cold days, try to use them or let faucets drip frequently, if you are concerned about freezing pipes during very cold days. Running water carries more energy than standing water and the friction created by a constant flow produces small amounts of heat, making it harder for pipes to freeze.
